Mezanmi Gade Wilflo!   (translation: Oh dear, look at Wilflo!)

These are the words we heard from Wilflo's family this week.  It has been more than 10 years since he left home on his own two feet.  His family was both excited and surprised to see him because even though he uses a wheelchair to get around now, he was determined to make the long car trip , 8 hours of time, From Port au prince to the south, Rendel in a small remote area in the town of Chardonnières to visit them after finding out they lost their homes in last month's earthquake.  Wilflo still has the same dream:  the dream of helping the others .

This week when Wilflo returned home, everyone wanted to see him.  His family and friends greeted him with a welcome worthy of a king. They surrounded the car excited to see and talk to him.  The phrase "Oh dear Jesus!" is what they all said over and over.

Seeing Wilflo in person after all these years brought them so much joy and made them forget about their current problems for a few moments. Once everyone had a chance to welcome Wilfo they were introduced to the other members of the St Luc team who made the trip.  The group thought the team had brought gifts when they realized what they had with them:  300 hygienic kits, 300 bags of pasta, 300 sheets of sheet metal and several pounds of nails.  These much needed materials are enough to help about 30 people make new small houses to live in.

Your support at http://www.stlukehaiti.org/donate make these trips and distributions possible and we are so grateful!
