Cardinal Chibly Langlois

His Excellency, Cardinal Chibly Langlois, Bishop of Les Cayes and president of the Haitian Episcopal Conference, payed a visit to the St. Luke Foundation for Haiti last week. He is the first Haitian cardinal to ever have been appointed and was appointed in 2014 by Pope Francis.
His visit began at St. Damien Hospital, where he visited the medical staff and patients. Fr. Rick and Dr. Gautier, CEO of the Pedriatic Hospital explained the mission and gave him a tour. He was impressed both by the structure and the care given to the children of Haiti.

He met the Passionist Community and gave a special blessing to the five, young, Haitian seminarians. The visit then continued at Kay St. Germain and Kay St. Gabriel (School and Rehabilitation Center for the Disabled run by NPFS, our sister organization) and he admired the love and care for these brothers and sisters who many times suffer so many obstacles in their daily life. Finally, he visited the St. Luke Hospital and the St. Luke Foundation for Haiti Leadership team. Our own Dr. Edson Agustin served as a guide for the visit, which concluded in the Chapel recently dedicated with a prayer and a blessing upon us all. He finally encouraged us to continue to be faithful to God and continue the mission to serve the poor and marginalized. We expressed are gratitude and hope that this is the first of many other visits.
