This is the story of Sainvil Olson, a Special Patient at St Luke Hospital.

For a parent, life can change in an instant. For thirteen years, Olson's mother, Olga Decoline, has been dedicating her life to seeking care for her son who was having difficulty breathing.  That moment came in 2019, when a pediatrician at St Damien Hospital in Tabarre finally told Olga that her son was suffering from an incurable disease called cystic fibrosis. Olson was then 13 years old.

Olson is now 16 and was transfered three months ago to the St Luke Hospital. Since then, he spends more of his time at the hospital than at home and most of the time in ICU because of his severe breathing issues.  Olga's life is also drastically different now that she is at the hospital by Olson's side every day. In order to be with him she has abandoned all the other daily activities she used to do.  Olson is a young man with a wonderful and rare personality.  The hospital rooms often have eight patients and Olson and Olga have noticed that he usually the only patient with CF.  He doesn't share his medical struggles and suffering with fellow patients but rather that he'll amuse others with jokes to bring joy and warmth their atmosphere.  And it works every time!   Doctors, nurses, fellow patients and their relatives are always good moods and smiling around Olson.  Seeing others happy makes Olson forget his pain and sorrow and he plans to be the "Hospital Comedian."

Olson says "My happiness doesn't come directly from me, because I'm in so much pain, but when I see the other patients in the hospital and the parents laughing their heads off at my jokes, I'm the happiest patient in the world."

Olson is under his mother's constant watch in the hospital.  She is not able to work, to bring him meals, buy him clothes, or pay hospital fees and provide him a place to live when he feels better. The St Luke Hospital has therefore taken care of all these and has become a second home to Olson and Olga.St Luke Foundation also rent a home for them when Olson he can leave the hospital.
