This is our prayer as COVID 19 increases in Haiti over these weeks.

Dear Family and Friends,

This is our prayer as COVID 19 increases in Haiti over these weeks.

Pope Francis called us to worldwide prayer on May 14.
We are a little late,
but God is always early to hear us.

"Even before a word is on my tongue, Lord, you have known it through and through!" (Ps 139:4)

We are in direct care of the COVID patients at St Luke Hospital-
so many more coming to us every day.

This is a prayer to the Holy Spirit for Haiti and for you,
and for the whole world,

It is composed of two blended hymns one spanning 11 centuries of plagues, pandemics and wars, and the second, a modern supplication in Haitian Creole.

Sung by high schools students of Nos Petits Freres et Soeurs, and Fondation St Luc programs.

It will be posted next week with video on stlukehaiti.org
Maybe you will like this foretaste.

Forty one years ago today, when I was twenty five years old,
as we lay face down on the floor during our ordination to the priesthood,
the moving litany of the Saints and the powerful invocation of the Holy Spirit were sung over us.

I could never have imagined, as I lay on the floor, that these many years later, I would be a priest and physician, caring for victims of a terrible pandemic in such a broken country.

The calling to priesthood and religious life has been for me, and continues to be, a treasure. Join me in thanking God for such a privilege.
